Regional Air Quality

Environmental Programs understands that all UCSF air emissions affect the entire community. By working to minimize airborne emissions where appropriate, Environmental Programs supports its mission to reduce waste and pollution. Through compliance programs and outreach efforts, the California Air Resources Board (CARB), the Bay Area Air Quality Management District’s (BAAQMD), and San Francisco Dept. of Public Health (SFDPH) have worked to decrease air pollution since their inception. The results indicate a steady increase in air quality and significant reduction in risk to human health.
