About the AQI Dashboards

The dashboards include an Actions to Take matrix for use when wildfire smoke results in worsening or unhealthy air quality. Actions are organized by AQI level and provide guidance for:

  • Outdoor workers and volunteers
  • Classes
  • Campus operations
  • Health System operations
  • Athletics and outdoor recreation
  • Outdoor camps and events
  • Pre-K–12 programs

Depending on the AQI level, the dashboard identifies both required actions and recommended actions for consideration. Required actions take effect when the corresponding AQI threshold is reached.

The Actions to Take matrix is not intended as a stand-alone emergency response plan. It should be used with applicable emergency response, crisis management and continuity of operations plans and procedures.

Note: The Actions to Take matrix is intended for wildfire smoke and related air quality conditions. It does not apply when there is a direct wildfire threat or another significant hazard to a UCSF location.
