The Biosafety Program provides comprehensive support and guidance on biosafety practices to faculty, staff, and students, helping to mitigate risks associated with biological research and activities.

Environmental Programs works to reduce UCSF’s environmental impact by: minimizing waste and pollution, establishing and reporting on key environmental performance indicators and raising environmental awareness among our staff, faculty and learners.

Ergonomics and Human Factors Program

The Ergonomics & Human Factors Program provides advice to Campus departments on preventive ergonomics injuries. The goal is to promote a safe and healthy work environment.

The program manages safety protocols, protects personnel, and enhances campus safety including Infrastructure Construction.

Fire and Life Safety Program

The Fire and Life Safety Program is dedicated to protecting the university community from fire hazards and ensuring a safe living and working environment. Additionally, the Fire and Life Safety Program collaborates with local fire departments and other emergency services to enhance coordination and response effectiveness.

Hazardous Waste

The Hazardous Materials Management Program ensures the safe and compliant handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials used across the campus.

Industrial Hygiene Program

This program focuses on a wide range of identifying, evaluating, and controlling workplace occupational and environmental factors. In addition, occupational hazards, such as chemical exposures, indoor air quality, noise, and ergonomic stressors.

Public Health Program

The Public Health Program is responsible for coordinating occupational health and risk assessments for all UCSF campus employees, including the management of medical surveillance program required for staff, faculty, and leaners conducting research.

Radiation Safety Program

The Radiation Safety Program is dedicated to protecting the university community and the environment from the potential hazards of ionizing and non-ionizing radiation. The goal of the Radiation Safety Program is to keep radiation exposure risks "as low as reasonably achievable" (or ALARA).

Report a Safety Concern

The Employee Hazard Report includes reports related to safety hazards, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), best practices, and expected behaviors.

Respiratory Protection

This includes workers in occupations such as healthcare, public safety, emergency response, and research. Please select option below to complete N95 respirator fit testing and training.

The EHS Fresno Safety Program provides comprehensive training, resources, and support to staff, and students to promote best practices in safety and compliance with relevant regulations, including respiratory fit-testing.

Vivarium Program

The Vivarium Safety Program consist of safety protocols, including proper handling and care of research animals, appropriate hazard and exposure control, and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
