Radiation Use Authorizations in UC Radiation

UCSF has migrated RUAs (Radiation Use Authorizations) from UCSF’s RIO (Research Information Online) application to the UC Safety RSS (Risk and Safety Solutions) Radiation application, or UC Radiation for short.  UC Radiation is integrated with other RSS applications currently in use, such as Inspect, UC Chemicals, WASTe, etc.

Please review your RUA in UC Radiation and become familiar with how to use it to track your radioactive materials use.  Note that Usage Logs are integrated into the application and will not be recorded on paper starting January 1, 2024.  Also, quarterly inventories no longer need to be submitted, since your radioactive material inventory would be current and corrected for decay within UC Radiation.

Access UC Radiation via MyAccess (application called RSS) or via the links below:

Please note- RIO will continue to be used for animal/IACUC protocols, Biological Use Authorizations (BUAs), and Controlled Substances Authorizations (CSAs).   Please feel free to contact your DSA or [email protected] with any questions.
