Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Program

Welcome to the UCSF Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Program.

The goal of the PPE program is to minimize employees’ exposure to the variety of hazards in the laboratory. The California Code of Regulations Title 8 Section 3380 and the UCSF PPE Policy requires employers to conduct work place hazard assessments, communicate results with employees, select appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), verify proper fit, provide PPE training and ensure PPE maintenance. At UCSF, compliance is attained using the Laboratory Hazard Assessment Tool.
